L'Armoire à Beauté

2023 — 2025

Hands-on CTO

L'Armoire à Beauté reinvents cosmetics distribution in pharmacies and beauty institutes: a consignment furniture grouping a selection of clean, emerging brands. With 200+ corners installed in France, the company needed to industrialize its tech. Mission: hands-on CTO to design and build the platform orchestrating the entire chain — from product catalog to shipping.

Context

The consignment model (the furniture stays property of L'Armoire, points of sale pay on sell-out) demands tight catalog and replenishment management across hundreds of locations. The IT stack was scattered: Sellsy for sales, Shopify for BtoC e-commerce, Shippingbo for shipping — each tool with its own view of the product, and a lot of double entry.

Mission

Design and build a PIM-middleware that becomes the catalog's source of truth and glues Sellsy, Shopify and Shippingbo together. In parallel, lead a smart cabinet prototype that estimates stock inside each cabinet in real time via AI and image recognition.

Approach

Platform design — The PIM is the catalog's source of truth and bridges the three external systems:

  • Sellsy (CRM) — pharmacy account and order sync.
  • Shopify (BtoC store) — product and stock sync.
  • Shippingbo (WMS) — shipping triggers.
  • Replenishment forms — in-store check-ins auto-generate purchase orders. No more double entry, no more spreadsheets that get lost.

AI prototyping — For the smart cabinet, prototype of a product-counting system using camera and image recognition, moving from manual checks to near-real-time stock estimation.
