Tyredating
2019 — 2021Project director — Dealer Locator (DLU)
Tyredating, a 100% Michelin subsidiary since 2014, brings together several tire-distribution e-commerce sites. I led a cross-group project: the Unified Dealer Locator (code name DLU), which centralizes partner-garage data across every group site and exposes it as an embeddable widget.
Context
Each group merchant site maintained its own database of partner garages, each with a different data model (contacts, opening hours, services, appointments). The result: no single source, duplicated maintenance across every site, and no way to share a common search tool.
Mission
Define and deliver the DLU: a shared garage-data reference at group level, and an embeddable widget that any site could plug in within minutes — no need to recode a custom search tool.
Approach
Systematic interviews with each group site's IT director in charge of garage data. Goal: find common ground on data definitions (fields, granularity, refresh rate) despite each site's existing habits. Once the model was aligned, the source was centralized in one place and exposed via an API + embeddable widget, so no site had to maintain its own database.
