R&D
ISRP — Haptic Shoulder
Haptic-feedback shoulder prototype for ISRP — Flutter app + Unity views (mobile and VR) + embedded firmware.
The project
R&D prototype built with ISRP. An instrumented shoulder delivers haptic feedback synced with a 3D scene displayed either on a phone or in a VR headset — a perception ↔ sensorimotor feedback loop designed for psychomotor therapy.
Designed end-to-end, from hardware to software:
- Hardware design — custom PCB design and routing, 3D modelling of the shoulder, 3D-printed parts, motor assembly and wiring.
- Embedded firmware (C++) — drives the haptic actuators on the shoulder.
- Flutter application — orchestrates the session and talks to the firmware over Bluetooth (BLE).
- Mobile 3D view — a Unity project exposed as a Flutter plugin, for phone rendering.
- VR view — a Unity project exposed as a Flutter plugin, for VR headset rendering.
Highlights
- 4 stacks orchestrated: C++ firmware, Flutter, mobile Unity, VR Unity
- Unity exported as a Flutter plugin (mobile and HMD)
- Haptic loop synced with a 3D scene for rehabilitation
